If you find Safari 5 Reader's default settings a little hard on the eyes, and the justified text downright obnoxious you might like to install this simple hack.

MatterReaderHack v 0.2

I have tried to change the CSS to get rid of the default Palatino font, but I think this might be hard coded into the reader, as I have changed all the references to it that I could find.

There are two components: Reader.html and ReaderThumb.png that will give you the darker scrollbar. Both items need to be dropped into the folder Applications / Safari / Contents / Resources. Finder will ask you to authenticate as you are changing system resources. This is a hack, and could mess stuff up that I do not know about, so please back-up the original files before replacing them with the hacked ones.
